Words of Inspiration and Motivation

“Children have unequal childhoods” by Dr. Aisha Ray
From this quote Aisha Ray discussed some of the problems children may have in school, and throughout their lives, when they miss out on a series of important environmental factors. Children go through a series of behaviors based on how they were raised and the opportunities they have while growing up. I like this quote because it puts a focus on the various backgrounds of children, from there you can verify the reasons behind certain behaviors from a child.

“We should maximize learning, maximize human development” by Dr. Stanley Greenspan
Learning is very important and is something that everybody will do for a lifetime. You do live and learn. Learning can help you to know more about yourself as well as others. Once you maximize learning, a person can have a better understanding of children by allowing them to explore and to become their own individual selves.

Renatta Cooper is a program specialist of the office of Child Care in the video of week 2. This woman had one family that she represented and the father of the child was very sick and was going to pass away soon. She made it her mission to put her ego aside and to think about the child and what he or she was going to go through when they had lost their father. That is what really motivated her to go into the field. Early Childhood is not always about you, it is about the child and making sure that they are okay.

  1. Hi Angel. I love all of your quotes. The one that stand out the most to me was "Children have unequal childhoods" -Dr Aisha Ray. I believe this is true because I always felt like my childhood was unequal to those around me. I must read into her readings further. Thanks for sharing!
